About
My research interests concern the development of the critiques of the subject in both Critical Theory and Poststructuralism. I am also very interested in the relationship between phenomenology and Marxism in the later work of Jean-Paul Sartre and some so-called postcolonial thinkers. The two sets of interests coincide in a broader fascination with different 19th and 20th century critiques of religion and their relationship to certain 17th and 18th theories of sovereignty.
I'm currently working on a paper on Frantz Fanon's use of monstrosity in his critique of Hegel.
