About
José P. Zagal is an Assistant Professor in the College of Computing and Digital Media at DePaul University. José received his PhD in computer science from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2008. José also earned his MSc in engineering sciences and a BS in industrial engineering from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in 1999 and 1997.
José’s research interests include the development of frameworks for describing, analyzing, and understanding games. He is also interested in exploring ways to support games education and games literacy. José currently heads the Game Ontology Project is a member of the executive board of the Digital Games Research Association and regularly blogs about his experience with the games he plays.
