About
My interests are in the intersections of film aesthetics and socio-cultural history, experimental cinemas and how they address issues of historiography in their inquiries into documentary and fiction film, feminist film theories and practices, and auteurs such as Douglas Sirk, Max Ophuls, Julien Duvivier, Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Ulrike Ottinger, Isaac Julien, and Kathryn Bigelow. I also teach auteur cinema and genre in the Film School at Facets Multi-Media, Chicago.
